Healing Grounds
Herd
Animal Assisted Therapy
Individuals, Couples, Families, & Team Building/Groups
Our four-legged therapy teammates located at Healing Grounds (just 10 minutes outside of Medicine Hat)
Treasure, Knox, Honey, & Allen have a special way of helping people feel safe, calm, and seen. With their majestice but gentle presence, soft fur, and an intuitive ability to read emotions, our herd helps to lower stress and support the body’s natural calming response. For many clients, their quiet companionship makes it easier to relax, open up, and feel grounded during the therapy process.
At Keys to Hope, healing sometimes begins with conversation…and sometimes with a soft nicker, a gentle lean, or a calming furry presence.
Baxter & Co.
Co-Counsellors
Animal Assisted Therapy
Individuals, Families, & Groups
And this little sunshine... Baxter
A 5-month-old Pomeranian and therapy-pup-in-training. Baxter LOVES meeting new friends, taking baths (seriously), chewing his favourite bones, and helping kids smile and settle during sessions. He’s curious, enthusiastic, and learning the art of comfort one wagging tail at a time.
Mango & Tango are friendly budgies who love to be held and support the therapy process with curiosity and fun!
These co-therapists help children and youth to meet their therapy goals!
Lola
Co-Counsellor
Animal Assisted Therapy
Individuals, Couples, Groups, & Families
Our resident therapy Husky —Lola- equal parts gentle heart and comic relief. She speaks fluent Husky (with her signature hello-howl), reads emotions like a pro, and loves to lean into people like a warm furry weighted blanket. If you’re anxious, she’ll stay close. If you’re excited, she’ll celebrate with you. And yes — she can hear a snack wrapper from 30 feet away.
One howl, one tail wag, one cuddle at a time — Lola makes the world softer and makes the therapy experience more comfortable.
